FITNESS WAREHOUSE, INC. was established in January 1982 when the two sport two time Hall of Fame athlete and Olympic coach Bob Muñoz became the Universal Gym Equipment dealer for Puerto Rico.  The following year the Precor USA dealership was added along with a couple of lines of accessories.  In the beginning, the dealership operated out of Bob’s health club in the Consolidated Mall Shopping Center in Caguas, but within 2 years, business expanded and warehouse and office space were required for inventory, service, repairs, and sales.  It was then that Bob moved the operation to the industrial area of the same mall complex and opened the first fitness equipment showroom in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.  He also changed the name of the business to FITNESS WAREHOUSE, INC. and subsequently added more equipment lines like Vectra Fitness, Amerec Steams and Saunas and Monark bikes.  In 1989 Bob moved the showroom and offices to the  Piñero Avenue location in San Juan where he continued to expand the business adding exclusive and prestigious lines such as Body Masters, Cybex, Tuff Stuff, Vision Fitness, PowerBlock,  Ivanko Barbell, Cap Barbell, Polar, SuperMats, Gerstung, Versa Climber, Schiek, Concept II and others.

In September 2006, after 17 years at its Piñero location, FITNESS WAREHOUSE, INC. consolidated all of its operations under 1 roof and moved to their warehouse location at Highway No. 1 near La Muda in Guaynabo to better serve their customers.  With its large showroom, executive and sales offices, service department and inventory, FITNESS WAREHOUSE, INC. became the most complete distributor of high end fitness equipment for both commercial and home use in the Caribbean.

In November 2017, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria, FITNESS WAREHOUSE, INC. closed its physical location and Bob retired after 35 years. The current owner and President, Jose Graulau (photo at left), a 4 sport athlete, who served as service manager for over 25 years, is now operating the newly incorporated company out of several sales offices throughout the San Juan metropolitan area, committed to moving the company forward into an exciting, bright future.  In January 2018, through the efforts of Jose,  FITNESS WAREHOUSE PR CORP was awarded the exclusive PRECOR dealership for Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
